Milton Ernest is rich in local lore. Before the First World War, a staggering 30 trades and crafts were represented in the village, including a higgler (a breaker of rough stones). Glenn Miller was a known famous visitor. Today, Milton Ernest has the unusual distinction of being bisected by the Bedford Rushden trunk road, the A6. Relaxing and comfortable are two words that immediately come to mind in association with this 17th century informal country inn. The Queens Head serves the finest of English and Continental country fayre in a restaurant of character, whilst the kitchens are fitted with the most modern equipment in pursuit of excellence by our Chef and his team. The restaurant has an imaginative menu and the chef takes great pride in providing a daily range of 'specials'. The warm and welcoming bar also offers excellent food and a good range of real ales.
